Day 4: Beginning Thesis-based Writing

Summarizing
  1. In your group, retrieve your summary of "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" (9) and finish it in a MSWord document. 
  2. Once you are satisfied with the summary, paste it HERE. To evaluate the summaries, go HERE.
Responding to a Reading
  1. As a class, discuss: Significant Idea.
  2. Read "Thesis-based Writing" (13-14). Discuss: Topic, Claim, Reasons, Thesis Statement, Topic Sentence.
  3. Re-read: "How To do One Thing at a Time" and examine the professor's claims and theses responding to it (15).
  4. As a group, respond to "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" by filling the form HEREResponses HERE 
  5. Evaluation of Group Theses
  6. Print the Persuasion Map HERE, and write an outline of your response to   "I Know the Truth, so Don't Bother me with Facts."

Write Blog 3: Summary of  "I Know the Truth, so Don't Bother me with Facts." (If you are having trouble with Blogger, just type your summary in MSWord and send it to yourself via e-mail. I will help you put it on the multi-authored blog next class). Remember to sign your blog posts with your Pseudonym under the "Labels" area on the right-hand side of the composing window.
