Day 2: Annotating

Today we will work down this list. If we run out of time, the items we have not completed become lab work.
  1. Discussion of class responses to "Hype": see "The CAT-W Commandments" HERE.
  2. Read and discuss (and annotate!) "Annotating" (6).
  3. Read: "How to Do One Thing at a Time" (7).
  4. Check: Annotations for  "How to Do One Thing at a Time" (8).
  5. With a partner, discuss: What in the annotations makes sense to you? What would you do differently? Why?
  6. On your own, annotate "Is Google Making Us Stupid?"(9).
  7. With your partner, compare your annotations. See if you agree on 
    • What the main point of the reading is
    • What are 2-3 important ideas other than the main point 
    • What are 2-3 ideas you may want to quote later 
    • What words could need to be looked up in a dictionary
    7. As a class, we will annotate an online version of the reading HERE
    8. Individually, annotate "I Know the Truth, so Don't Bother Me with Facts"(10).
    10. Write Blog 2: Response or Revision of "Hype."
