Day 4: Thesis-based writing

  1. As a class, discuss: Significant Idea.
  2. Read "Thesis-based Writing" (14-15). Discuss: Topic, Claim, Reasons, Thesis Statement, Topic Sentence.
  3. Re-read: "How To do One Thing at a Time" and examine the professor's claims and theses responding to it (16).
  4. As a group, respond to "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" by filling the form
     5. Evaluation of Group Theses
     6. Using the Persuasion Map HERE, write an outline of your response to   "I Know the Truth, so Don't Bother me with Facts."
    7. Send me your outline via e-mail by clicking "Share Final" and sending it to: xgallardo@lagcc.cuny.edu
    8. Print your outline.  
    9. Type a brief reflection of what you have learned about thesis-based writing that answers the questions below. Paste it as a COMMENT to THIS blog.
