I. Watching "The Story of Bottled Water" and "The Smoking Fry"
This video is part of Anne Leonard's project The Story of Stuff. After watching it, write down your reaction to it on a piece of paper.

This video is an "extra" from the DVD Supersize Me. WARNING: tons of images of decomposing food. After watching it, write down your reaction to it on a piece of paper.

Questions for Discussion: What are the realities being uncovered by these videos? Who/What benefits from them and How? Who/What suffers because of them and How? Are these realities necessary?

II. Blog 17: Summarizing and Responding to "The End of Overeating."
  1. Read "The End of Overeating" HERE, taking notes.
  2. Then, watch the 7-minute version of  Supersize Me, a documentary that follows Morgan Spurlock, a man who spends one month eating only McDonalds food three times a day (below). As you watch, take notes.
  3. Identify a significant idea from "The End of Overeating" and respond to it by creating an outline using the interactive Persuasion Map HERE. Your claim must be supported by at least two reasons, and you must include at least one example from the 7-minute Supersize Me. WARNING: some more disagreeable scenes foodwise.
  4. Print a copy of the outline for me to check before you move on to the draft.
  5. Once I have approved your outline, write your full response, following your outline, as Blog 17.
