Day 4: Thesis-based writing

Turn in "Practice Connecting, Generating Ideas, and Outlining."

Responding to a Reading
  1. As a class, discuss: Significant Idea.
  2. Read "Thesis-based Writing" (7-8). Discuss: Topic, Claim, Reasons, Thesis Statement, Topic Sentence.
  3. Re-read: "How To do One Thing at a Time" and examine the professor's claims and theses responding to it (9).
  4. As a group, respond to "Is Google Making Us Stupid?" by filling the form HEREResponses HERE 
  5. Evaluation of Group Theses.
  6. Complete the assignment Identifying a good thesis statement

Today's Lab (whatever you do not get to do becomes Homework):

1. Identify the thesis statements for the following three readings and copy or type them in this FORM.
