Please choose one of the four CAT-W readings I have handed out to you and write a response to them. The response should be typed. Do not forget to add a header.
Your response should be an essay containing the following:
- A short summary of the passage.
- A claim or thesis responding to a significant idea in the passage.
- At least 2 body paragraphs (hopefully three) with relevant reasons and concrete evidence from your own life experience or ideas you have read/learned in class.
- In each body paragraph, refer back to the passage (perhaps by quoting) and connecting your own thoughts to the passage you have referred to.
- A conclusion that does something else than summarize.
Remember that first impressions matter, so make the beginning of your essay strong and as error-free as possible. Plan you essay so your strongest reasons and examples are early on.
