Check 'em out: Two responses to Blog 3

From Amzarzi's Blog (with a few changes)

1. Significant Idea: “it is easy to manipulate people’s belief systems with insinuating pictures or inflammatory quotes”

2. Claim: I agree with professors Garret and Nisbet

3. Reasons:
  • because we are all easily influenced by what the media says
  • besides, we tend to make our own conclusions after hearing gossip
  • all this adds to the fact that we won’t even confirm the source of information before accepting the rumor as real.
4. Thesis: I agree with professors Garret and Nisbet when they say that “it is easy to manipulate people’s belief systems with insinuating pictures or inflammatory quotes” because we are all easily influenced by what the media says; besides, we tend to make our own conclusions after hearing gossip. All this adds to the fact that we won’t even confirm the source of information before accepting the rumor as real.

From Tim's Blog (with a few changes)

1.Significant idea: "even when people do take time to learn the facts, the effort often does no good."

2.Claim: I agree with Jeffrey Kluger when he states "even when people do take time to learn the facts, the effort often does no good."

3. Reasons: First, people live in a world with so many lies that it makes them think the lies are the truths, and the truths are lies. Second, usually people trust themselves more than they trust others. Last, people trust what famous people have said.

4. Thesis: I agree with Jeffrey Kluger when he states "even when people do take time to learn the facts, the effort often does no good." First, people live in a world with so many lies that it makes them think the lies are the truths, and the truths are lies. Second, usually people trust themselves more than they trust others. Last, people trust what famous people have said.
