Welcome to Brave New World! (9/8)

Welcome to the web-log (or "blog") for Dr. Gallardo's ENG099. This will be your "home base" for the semester, so you should check it often to keep up with assignments and activities. Your own blogs will be linked here and virtually everything we do in class will be recorded here.

Today we will:

1. Read and discuss the syllabus.
2. Join Google and create a blog in Blogger.
3. Join my blogroll by copying the web address of your blog and posting it HERE.
4. Customize your blog by 

• Disabling the "captcha" for Comments.   

• Creating a blogroll that connects your blog to your classmates and me (add up to three classmates today; the rest for homework).

6. Write Blog 1: Diagnostic Essay--Summary and Response to "Hype."

HOMEWORK: by Tuesday's class

1. add the rest of your classmates to your blogroll.
2. log into your blog and explore the "Design" tab, especially the features "Add a Gadget" and "Design Template." Personalize your blog as you wish, but ONLY include information you are comfortable with everyone knowing!
